In November 1992, Saturday Night Cruisers was founded by Dick and Diane Fork; the founding members are Dick and Diane Fork, Dennis Jones Senior, Steve Troop, Andy and Mable Vallejos, Leroy Clark and Raymond Greigo. We met at 7pm at Foster’s Freeze and cruised at 8pm. Mike Lewis, Owner of Foster’s Freeze and Quigley’s, is the official sponsor of the Saturday Night Cruisers. He wanted to bring back cruising like the fifties , sixties and seventies. Prior to 2000, we only allowed cars from the fifties, sixties and seventies. After 2000, membership was opened up to all cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles and anybody with love or interest of cars and who wanted to hang out and support the community. In 1999, Main Street U.S.A Run was created by Wayne Soppland, which is one of the few car shows held on Route 66, proceeds from the run are donated to local charities. In 2009, we became a sanctioned car club and a member of the High Desert Car Club Council, which is located at Kramer Junction. We have approximately 40 members currently. Our future goals are expanding family values and community activities. Keep on cruisin.
